CROSSBREED ensemble is committed to contemporary expression with a music programme portraying an intriguing fusion of musical styles: from avant-garde compositions to hard-rock arrangements. CROSSBREED also collaborates with other artists within interdisciplinary projects combining music with video-art, installations, choreography, theatre and other multi-media.
The programme “Diversity” has been concieved by Maltese composer Ruben Zahra to portray an eclectic combination of works that reflect today’s pluri-linguistic backdrop. The music of György Ligeti, Iron Maiden, Iannis Xenakis, Looney Tunes, Henry Cowell … and others will clash in one programme to celebrate music diversity. The programme also includes a cycle of works by composer Ruben Zahra whose music investigates the underlying theme of this concert: the collision of musical genres.
