Join us for an hour of contemporary music featuring a diverse program of works by both international and Maltese composers. The recital will begin with a piece by Paul Hindemith, a key figure in 20th-century music known for his innovative style. Following Hindemith, we will present works by Maltese composer Joseph Vella, whose compositions blend traditional and modern influences from the Maltese cultural landscape, and Ruben Zahra, who integrates fragments from a variety of musical cultures, including rock, folk, and jazz, into his contemporary work.
The program will continue with a piece by American composer Scott McAllister, recognised for his energetic and rhythmically engaging compositions. We will conclude with a work by Charles Camilleri, one of Malta's most renowned composers.
