KAFKA'S INSECT & OTHER STORIES

KAFKA’S INSECT is an interdisciplinary performance by Ruben Zahra based on the short novel ‘The Metamorphosis’ by Franz Kafka, published in 1915. The interdisciplinary profile of this performance presents the narrative through a cycle of video-art scenes, accompanied by a live piano score and modular analog synthesizers with an emphasis on the MOOG Mother 32.
PARADE & THE VELVET GENTLEMEN

“PARADE & the Velvet Gentleman” revisits this historical ballet with contemporary aesthetics and techniques. Besides “Parade”, this project includes a programme of important piano works by Satie, accompanied by a selection of his poignant writings – depicting a colourful portrait of this unique composer.

Tricia Dawn Williams is passionate about the promotion of new music by Maltese composers. She has commissioned, premiered and recorded numerous works from Maltese composers, and her commitment to their music has been recognised and praised by critics and audiences alike.
KIRANA
Children's opera project connecting children with professional artists
KIRANA is an interdisciplinary performance that has been conceived and designed to connect children with artists towards a collaborative creative process. Three professional artists from Malta travel to any country and conduct a 5-day workshop with the children from the host city. The creative output of the workshops is integrated into the performance so that the children contribute directly to the performance with their own rhythms, movements and language.

ĦREJJEF ‘Maltese Folktales’ is a captivating, interdisciplinary production which brings together traditional folktales, shadow puppetry, digital animation and contemporary music. At its core lies a collection of Maltese folktales, presented in the style of a traditional storyteller accompanied by a live piano score that acts as a soundtrack to the stories.
